And the result is....

Ashmei

Ashmei Ambassador?

A week ago, Mandy and I were driving back from Tring after a fantastic weekend with the Ashmei and Freestak team and all the other Ashmei Ambassador hopefuls.

All week twitter was buzzing, people wondering when we would find out whether we were successful or not. An email came out on Monday morning telling us that the team would meet mid-week to make their decision.

Wednesday, all day I was clicking on my refresh button on my emails. An email arrived, it was from Pizza Hut offering me 2 for 1 pizza! Aaagh! The wait was killing me.
Wednesday came and went, no email from Ashmei.

As I said in my previous blog, I was lucky enough to get short listed last year as well but got the unsuccessful email. I woke up on Thursday morning and had accepted that I hadn't been successful. In my mind, the successful candidates would have been contacted on Wednesday and Thursday was going to be the "Thanks, but no thanks" email.

I wasn't surprised because the calibre of candidates was amazing.

PING! An email and it was from Freestak, Ashmei's marketing partner................

Oh my! I read the email, I read it again, I had been successful, I was going to be an Ashmei Ambassador. Out of 40 candidates they had selected 4 of us.

Owain - Ashmei Ambassador

I was over the moon, I wanted to tell everyone! I've admired the Ashmei brand for years and to be part of their team was amazing.

Mandy was so inspired by all the hopefuls she had met last weekend, she has now joined Twitter and plans to blog more once we launch our new joint website in the coming weeks. In the mean time, you can follow her on twitter - @runbesidehim

You you can find out more about the other successful candidates on the Ashmei website

Since then, I've had a chance to get a number of runs in wearing my new Ashmei socks so a review will follow in the next couple of days. What I will say just now though is, they are my favourite socks already!
