If you haven't heard about Jantastic then head over to www.jantastic.me and if you would like to join the RunningBeside.me team, search the teams for 'RunningBeside.me' and feel free to join us.
It's a really good way to keep motivated during January, February and March and give you a bit of focus.
I've decided I will do 6 runs a week, which is what my marathon plan is covering. Im taking the easy runs as easy runs and listening to my body. The hard sessions are Tuesday and Thursday at the club training and then on Saturday it's marathon paced running followed by an easy Sunday run.
Others within the team are doing 3 or 4 runs a week and doing really well.
I would like to thank a Dale Colley for his comment about my lost mojo. I just read it tonight and in one way I'm glad I've already got my mojo back but also if I hadn't it would have given me a real good kick up the arse! I encourage comments like that - not too often though as it will feel like a beating each time I check my comments.
My focus just now is on Edinburgh marathon, by training for this race I will get fitter and times over other distances should come down as part of that. I've still to decide on what my marathon pace is going to be. One comment I got on Twitter was that I should just aim for sub 3 and focus on just getting past that barrier. Part of me totally agrees with that but then another part of me thinks that I am better than just getting sub 3, I would like to get sub 2:50 or maybe even closer to 2:45.
I know I should take it one step at a time but I always tend to set my sights high. Maybe, like @daleccolley said, I set my sights too high and then get demotived when I don't see the results. This is something I am going to need to think about over the coming weeks.
I have now officially resigned from Pitreavie AAC and joined Edinburgh AC, I just need to get my notification letter sent to Scottish Athletics and then I can race under Edinburgh AC colours.
I'd like to thank Pitreavie for their support over the years and I'll hopefully bump in to some of my old club mates at races over the coming year.
A quick shout out to Team RunningBeside.me -

You are all doing fantastic, I know it's just week 1 but I have every faith in you and we will smash January and head in to February ready to take on the next month of running.
