With 19 weeks to go until the Devil O' The Highlands foot race, I've decided enough is enough. No more excuses!
I'm putting all the facts and figures out there for the world to see.
I weighed myself this morning and I've decided that I need to lose weight, get fitter and really train hard for this race. I want to do well in it and I don't want to look back and think, if only I had started training when I said I would, which is pretty much what has happened with the John Muir Way ultra. The JMW ultra was meant to be my first 'A' race of the year but due to lack of motivation and being full of excuses, it's now about just enjoying the run, rather than being competitive.
With that in mind, here are my current stats.
Weight: 191.8 lbs (13.7 stone - which is a stone heavier than I was when I ran Stirling marathon last year!)
Body fat percentage: 23.7%
Although my BMI is just within the healthy weight range, I know I can be healthier.
I plan to blog each week with an update on how I'm getting on and also report back on how I was feeling during that week. It will be a live training diary. So, check back next week to see how I've got on!
If you are on Instagram, I'll also be posting with the hashtag #projectRBM so you can also follow me over there.
So, as of now, no more excuses!
I've a 6 mile run tonight and I've already done my strength exercise this morning. It's nothing crazy, just some press ups, squats, lunges and crunches, it's a start!
